Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical injuries or illnesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human anatomy and kinesiology, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the physical therapist in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients
- Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation
- Monitor and document patient progress
- Educate patients and their families on at-home exercises and self-care techniques
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with the physical therapist to modify treatment plans as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant program
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the state of practice
- CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassion and empathy for patients
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
