Job Summary:
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients with breathing disorders and cardiopulmonary conditions. You will assess patients, develop treatment plans, administer medication and oxygen therapy, and educate patients on how to manage their conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments to determine their respiratory needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Administer medication and oxygen therapy as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients on mechanical ventilation
- Educate patients on proper breathing techniques and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately
- Stay up-to-date on advances in respiratory care practices and technologies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Current RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
