Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work closely with physicians to develop and implement respiratory care plans, monitor patient progress, and provide education to patients and their families on respiratory health management.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties and administer appropriate respiratory treatments
- Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status and provide necessary interventions
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement respiratory care plans
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory health management techniques
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
- Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions as needed
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
- Stay current on advances in respiratory therapy and participate in continuing education activities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing patient needs
