Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant in a Long Term Care facility, you will work closely with patients to help them regain mobility, strength, and independence. Your role will involve assisting Physical Therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and providing support and encouragement to residents in long term care settings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist Physical Therapists in evaluating patients and developing personalized treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic exercises and activities to help patients reach their physical therapy goals
- Provide hands-on assistance to patients during therapy sessions
- Document patient progress and communicate with the healthcare team
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and techniques for ongoing rehabilitation
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- CPR certification
- Experience working in long term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Physical stamina and endurance to assist patients with mobility and transfers
