Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to help patients regain or improve their ability to perform daily tasks and activities. OTs work with individuals of all ages who are recovering from injuries, disabilities, or illnesses to enhance their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting assessments to determine the patient's strengths, limitations, and goals
- Developing treatment plans and interventions tailored to the patient's needs
- Facilitating activities to improve fine motor skills, coordination, balance, and mobility
- Providing adaptive equipment and assistive technology solutions
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and physical therapists
- Documenting patient progress and outcomes
- Educating patients and their families about techniques for managing daily tasks
- Contributing to discharge planning and follow-up care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with diverse populations and age groups
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice in occupational therapy
- Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with physical activities
