Job Title: PTA - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) working in Long Term Care (LTC) facilities, you will be responsible for providing rehabilitative services to patients who are recovering from injuries or dealing with chronic conditions. Your role will involve working closely with Physical Therapists to develop and implement treatment plans to help patients improve their mobility, reduce pain, and regain independence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with patients to assess their physical abilities and limitations
- Assist Physical Therapists in developing individualized treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and endurance
- Monitor and document patient progress
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue progress at home
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Experience working in Long Term Care facilities preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassion and empathy towards patients and their families
