Job Summary: A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for providing respiratory care services to patients with lung and breathing disorders. They assess patients, develop treatment plans, and administer respiratory treatments to improve lung function and overall respiratory health.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients' respiratory conditions and determining appropriate treatment plans.
2. Administering medications and treatments such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
3. Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
4. Educating patients on proper breathing techniques and self-care strategies.
5. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
6. Responding to emergency situations such as cardiac arrests and respiratory distress.
7. Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
2. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
3. State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
4. BLS and ACLS certification.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
7. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
