- Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Long Term Care (LTC)
- Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our Long Term Care facility. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders in elderly patients. The successful candidate will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and quality of life for our residents.
- Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
2. Develop and implement customized treatment plans tailored to each resident's needs and goals.
3. Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve communication skills, cognitive abilities, and swallowing function.
4. Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
5. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
6. Educate staff, residents, and family members on communication strategies and techniques.
7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Qualifications and Skills:
1. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
2. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
3. Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
4. Experience working with geriatric populations in Long Term Care settings preferred.
5. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
6. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
7. Proficiency in electronic medical record keeping.
