Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Long Term Care (LTC) settings, you will work closely with patients to help them regain their independence and improve their quality of life. Your main responsibility will be to assist Occupational Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients in LTC facilities. You will work with a diverse group of patients, including older adults and individuals with chronic conditions, to help them achieve their therapy goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist Occupational Therapists in evaluating patients' functional abilities and developing personalized treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and daily living skills
- Monitor and document patients' progress towards therapy goals
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on adaptive equipment and techniques for independent living
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical and legal standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience working with older adults and individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare regulations and reimbursement policies for LTC services
