Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team in a Long Term Care facility. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating residents with speech and language disorders to improve their communication and swallowing abilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough evaluations to assess residents' speech and language abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
- Provide direct therapy services to residents as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Educate residents, their families, and caregivers on strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Stay current on best practices and evidence-based interventions in the field of speech-language pathology
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience working with geriatric populations in a Long Term Care setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing treatment plans
- Dedication to providing high-quality care to residents with speech and language disorders
