Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our long term care facility. The ideal candidate will work with elderly residents to help them regain independence and improve their quality of life through therapeutic interventions. The Occupational Therapist will assess patients' functional abilities, develop treatment plans, and provide hands-on therapy to facilitate optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine their physical and cognitive abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and goals
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care for residents
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper techniques and strategies for maximizing independence
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of treatment sessions and progress notes
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience working in a long term care setting preferred
- Strong clinical skills and ability to effectively assess and treat a diverse patient population
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CPR certification
