Job title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain movement and manage pain. This rewarding role involves providing hands-on therapy, educating patients on exercises and techniques, and monitoring their progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of therapeutic exercises and activities prescribed by the physical therapist
- Help patients perform stretches, strengthening exercises, and other maneuvers to improve mobility
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes
- Provide guidance and support to patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises
- Use therapeutic equipment and modalities, such as heat and cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation
- Collaborate with the physical therapist to create personalized treatment plans for each patient
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Current certification and licensure as a physical therapy assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy principles
- Ability to lift and move patients safely
- CPR certification
