Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders or cardiovascular problems. You will work closely with physicians to develop treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and provide education to patients and their families on respiratory health.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing patients' respiratory conditions and developing treatment plans
- Administering medications and treatments, such as oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, and ventilator support
- Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educating patients and their families on respiratory health and proper use of medications and equipment
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Responding to emergency situations and performing life-saving interventions as necessary
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and staying current on best practices in respiratory care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Certified or registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of respiratory care equipment and techniques
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Compassion and empathy for patients and their families
