Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Long Term Care (LTC) facilities, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to help residents improve their ability to perform daily activities and regain independence. You will assist in creating treatment plans, leading therapy sessions, and tracking progress to ensure the highest quality care for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist occupational therapists in evaluating patients' abilities and developing individualized treatment plans.
2. Implement therapy interventions, exercises, and activities to help patients improve functional skills.
3. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
4. Educate patients and caregivers on techniques for maximizing independence and safety in daily activities.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current OTA license or certification
- Previous experience working in long term care settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques
