Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Speech and Language Pathologist working in Long Term Care facilities, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to residents with communication and swallowing disorders. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans and improve quality of life for residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders in residents.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language needs.
3. Provide therapy services to improve residents' communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities.
4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal resident care.
5. Educate staff and families on communication strategies and techniques.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services provided.
7. Monitor residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
8. Stay current on best practices and evidence-based interventions in speech and language pathology.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
2. Valid state licensure and certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
3. Experience working with geriatric populations in Long Term Care settings.
4. Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
7. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and documentation standards in Long Term Care.
