Job Title: Radiation Therapist (Oncology)
Job Summary:
As a Radiation Therapist specializing in Oncology, you will be responsible for delivering prescribed doses of radiation therapy to cancer patients under the supervision of a radiation oncologist. This vital role requires a high level of technical skill, compassion, and attention to detail to ensure the safe and effective treatment of patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient treatments.
2. Position patients accurately for treatment delivery.
3. Administer radiation therapy according to treatment plans developed by a radiation oncologist.
4. Monitor patients during treatment sessions to ensure proper dosage and patient comfort.
5. Collaborate with other members of the oncology team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
6. Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation.
7. Ensure patient safety and adherence to radiation safety protocols.
8. Stay up-to-date on advances in radiation therapy techniques and technologies.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Completion of an accredited radiation therapy program.
2. ARRT certification in radiation therapy.
3. State licensure as a radiation therapist.
4. Prior experience in oncology radiation therapy preferred.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
7. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
