Job Title: Radiation Therapist Oncology
Job Summary:
The Radiation Therapist Oncology is responsible for delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatment to patients with cancer. They work closely with oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and safe delivery of radiation therapy.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reviewing and verifying radiation therapy treatment plans
- Positioning patients for treatment and administering radiation therapy
- Monitoring and assessing patient reactions to treatment
- Documenting patient treatment information
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to optimize patient care
- Maintaining accurate records of treatment sessions
- Ensuring proper operation of radiation therapy equipment
- Providing patient education on radiation therapy procedures and side effects
- Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure as a radiation therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and equipment
