Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders or cardiopulmonary conditions. You will work closely with physicians to develop treatment plans and provide respiratory care services to patients of all ages. Your expertise in administering oxygen therapy, managing mechanical ventilation, and performing diagnostic tests will be essential in helping patients improve their respiratory health.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conducting patient assessments to determine respiratory care needs
2. Administering medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Monitoring patients' respiratory status and responding to changes
4. Performing diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function tests
5. Managing mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients
6. Educating patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
7. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Current RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
